Get the London Look: The New Oxford December 18, 2009

Oxfords are proper, ladylike, and now my latest obsession.  Pull off a sexy secretary look with heels and a pencil skirt, or try the new take on flats.  Oxfords are a comfortable way to dress up any look and give off the vibe that you’ve just been running around London and you haven’t been back long enough to change your shoes.  Ditch your flip flops and get a pulled together look like Olivia Palermo, Selma Blair, and Sienna Miller.  Even jeans and a t shirt look effortlessly chic with a pair of metallic or white oxfords.  This year you’ll see them in all shapes, colors, and patterns to fit any style.  Wear them with pants, skirts, tights, bare legs, or put your own spin on the look.  They look as polished with dress pants as they do with a sundress.  When preppy is infused with European cool, the rules don’t apply.  My prediction: oxfords are the new classic.

Green Leather Riding Boots December 11, 2009

When something good comes into your life, you can’t just let it pass you by.  You have to take the  opportunity and hold on to it.  For me that something was a pair of dark green leather Dolce Vita  riding boots.  I saw them on Urban Outfitters and I didn’t buy them, and now I fear they are gone  forever.

Flat riding boots are the ideal footwear.  They are comfortable enough to walk from one end of the  mall to the other, but stylish enough to wear with dresses, pants, skirts, *insert your favorite  piece of clothing here*.  These boots are the perfect shade of  hunter green to break up the endless  line of black and brown boots while still acting as a  neutral that can be paired with almost  anything.

Here’s to hoping they’ll make like true love and come back to me since I let them go!
