I’ve been on the hunt for a baby pink lipstick ever since I saw The Veronicas video for Untouched.  After months of searching, I’ve found the perfect pink:  Bloom Lipstick in Princess (3rd from the left).  It’s the perfect shade of lilac-pink that is slightly reminiscent of the ’60s mod makeup looks.  Paired with a smoky eye, its a fresh take on a retro style.

I’ve had a love affair with Bloom’s Lip Balm in Orange since I was in high school.  The company hails from Australia (as do the The Veronicas) and boasts a full line of makeup (including mineral makeup) with gorgeous, natural colors and pretty packaging.  I wish Sephora would get with the program and start carrying Bloom, but for now I have to get my fix at Ulta.

Make Up For Ever December 13, 2009

Every year when I was a little girl, I would get a fresh box of 96 Crayola Crayons.  There is nothing like a brand new, unopened box of crayons with perfect points in every color of the rainbow.  This year, the little girl in me jumped and down and clapped her hands when she saw the Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes Collector Set.  This set is a dream come true for anyone who loves makeup.  There are 25 vibrant colors in this set, with the smooth, waterproof formula we’ve all come to know and love.   My favorites are 7L (Turquoise), 10L (Bronze), 17L (Pistachio), 18L (Burgundy), and best of all, 19 L (Shimmering Taupe).  This set contains enough inspiration to make the little girl in all of us want to color outside the lines.

Oscar Blandi Changed My Life

If I was stranded on a desert island and I could only take one beauty product with me, it would be Oscar Blandi’s Pronto Dry Shampoo.  This product has literally changed my life.  I calculate that Oscar will give me an extra 9,360 hours of extra sleep over the course of my life and an extra 15,600 good hair days.  These stats are based on the 3 hours of sleep I save each week by not having to wash, dry, and style my hair each day (times 52 weeks per year, for the next 60 years) and the extra 5 good hair days per week (cause I was averaging about two before I met Oscar haha) with the same 52 weeks per year, for the next 60 years.

My hair can get pretty greasy, and I used to have to wash, dry, and style it everyday.  This dry shampoo is a powder that you massage into your roots with your head flipped over.  It absorbs oil, gives you great body and volume, and doesn’t show up, even in dark hair.  My hair actually looks better on the second and third days than on the first day (when I washed it).  I usually wash my hair every 3 days now since I have Oscar, which has actually improved the condition of my hair, since it gets a break from the washing and heat styling.  I can even stretch it out to 4 days if I wear a ponytail on day 4.  Needless to say, I’m completely hooked on Oscar now and I couldn’t be happier (or have better hair!)
